Coaster and Park Pictures 2005

It seems unbelieveable that we are already in 2005 because it only seems like yesterday we were still in 2004. Anyway these next 2 years are going to be 2 very exciting years for the UK because there are a lot of new coasters coming, like the Rocket Coasters for Thorpe and possibly Blackpool in 2006,Oakwood will treat us to be a new coaster in 2006,Flamingoland will have 1 new coaster for 05, and another major coaster for 06, Drayton will unvail a new coaster for mid 05,Alton will introuduce Rita for 05, and even Paultons Park it seems will be treating us to a new coaster for 06, so throughout this year, you will be treated to all the usual reports of new coasters this year in the UK, and Hopefully a report in Holland, and more reviews from Florida where BGT will be introducing a new B&M Dive Machine so sit back and relax :)

Klondike at Hayling Island
The First Report from 2005 is a quick report from Hayling Island where they have brought Klondike from Drayton Manor Park who needed to get rid of the ride to fit in their new 2005 coaster, Klondike replaces Hayling's existing coaster, and fits in perfectly in its place.

Update 19/3/05 - Klondike at Hayling Island is now offically open, Look inside to see the pictures

Adventure Island Southend(23/1/05)
The first major report from 2005 comes from Adventure Island in Southend again, this seems to be an annual trip for me now, and it always seem to provide a good fix in the off season. For this update, you will see all the rides that were new in 2004 and some unique views of the park from the top of a new observation tower that had only recently opened a few days prior to my visit which I consider amazing timing

Alton Towers Off Season Update(19/2/05)
This is a special off season update from Alton towers with a look behind the scenes as part of an ECC AGM trip. You will get to see some updated costruction pictures of Rita,Pictures inside the Black Hole, Pictures from The Air Lift Hill, plus a few other general park photos. Rita now officlly opens April 1st,so you will soon get to see photos of the coaster in action

Thorpe Park Rehearsal Day(13/3/05)
Thorpe Park hasnt quite opened yet, but they always have a rehearsal day which means friends and family of staff can visit the park for a few short hrs. Anyway in this picture update, see Rush Construction,Slammer in testing,Rocket Coaster Construction and a few 2005 changes that have happened around the park

Alton Towers(3/4/05)
This is my first offical trip to Alton Towers where my main aim was to ride Rita, the new launched coaster which I managed only twice as there was a lot of brakedowns, but it was absolutly amazing and worth the wait,Nemesis is finally back to her 1994 best with the waterfalls working again and a repainted station structure, So this Picture update mainly concentrates on Shots of Rita in Action and some special shots of the new look Nemesis, but there are still a few other general park photos here too

Chessington and Thorpe Park(17/4/05)
A Double Trip to Chessington and Thorpe Park, I mainly went to Chessington try out Peeking Heights(Formly known at Eclipse at Thorpe), and I returned to Thorpe to try out Slammer which was finally open, You can now see Peeking Heights photos as well a few onride shots, plus a few shots of Slammer in Action in the Thorpe update

ECC Holland Trip(6/5/05 - 9/5/05)
This was a long weekend trip to Holland with the ECC which would see trips to Toverland,Efteling,Walibi World and a suprise bonus 4th park, I had always wanted to visit Efteling and Walibi World and finally I got that chance, Goliath certaintly did not disapoint at Walibi World, and Efteling was pretty good too,View reports from all parks, plus view loads of photos too

Florida Trip(4/6/05 - 14/6/05)
So its back to Florida once again and as usual there would be plenty of new things to try including The Mummy at Universal,SheiKra at BGT,Disco H20 at Wet N Wild,Crush N Gusher at Typhoon Lagoon, and I would get a new park credit with Cypress Gardens thrown in too, Read reviews of all the new rides/attractions I went on, Plus View lots of New Pictures from many of the parks too

Blackpool ECC Trip(1/7/05 - 3/7/05)
I havent been to Blackpool for 4 years, and was excited about returning with the ECC for the first time, It proved to be a very good weekend with 3 ERS's,and Lunches arranged with the park, the weather was very good as well.View my Trip Report over the weekend, and then view loads of pictures from the park

Thorpe Park(17/7/05)
Time for another update from Thorpe, I had orginally ridden Rush on a last visit, but now the Ride is on an much more awesome setting with 4-5 full height swings so I had to take another visit. You can view lots of photos of Rush in action, plus a few other general park photos

West Midlands Safari Park(21/8/05)
Time to show off a new park that I havent visited before, basiclly I wanted to go somewhere different for a change, and chose West Midlands Safari Park, they have just recently added a New Mini Rapids Ride(The First Perminant attraction of this type at a park),there was also 3 new coaster credits too.View the Pictures from the Amusement Area of the park showing off the Rapids Ride,Coasters and other rides

Drayton Manor Park(25/9/05)
Time for my annual trip to the Drayton Manor Park with the ECC, It was mainly a trip to finally try out G-Force(The New Coaster for 2005) and it was quite good, but nothing spectacular, View a special dedicated gallery of the brand new ride

Flamingoland(15/10/05)
I thought a trip back to Flamingoland was nessecary with the ECC as we would get to say Hello to Velocity(the new 2005 Coaster) and say goodbye to Magnum which leaves at the end of the season. It proved to be a really good day too. View a gallery of the brand new coaster, plus lots of others general park photos

Hyde Park Fair(31/12/05)
As a last unexpected trip to end off the season, I took a visit to Hyde Park Fair to offically see off 2005, It proved to be a good day with nice weather, and the fair was very enjoyable indeed, I also believe this has been London's biggest fair in years and I only hope it continues next year too. See Some pictures from the event

BubblesWorks - A Tribute
As a special end of season feature,We take a look at the BubbleWorks at Chessington for the last time in its orginal form before it undergoes a refit for 2006,Chessington assure us the Re-fit will be just as good as the orginal, but obviously we will have to wait and see. Until then,Enjoy lots of On-Ride photos and enjoy the memories.
