Parque de Atracciones Report

Parque de Atracciones is a park I had heard very little about but have heard about its Intermin Inverted Coaster called Tonrnado which is meant to be very good. Also people have told me this park always gets very busy considering its pretty much in the centre of Madrid, however thankfully this never proved to be the case today and the park was quite empty despite it being a Friday :)

As soon as we arrived at the park, Justin had managed to arrange lunch for us at the park which was nice, however the park said we had to go all together(Not easy when there is 60 of us) so we all agreed to go to Lunch first before going on the rides seeing as we arrived at approx 2PM. Once again we were treated to a large lunch worthy for a family of 4, We had a Roll,Salad,Fruit,Chicken and Chips,Spaghetti and a Drink, Very nice indeed.

It was soon time for the rides, so off we went, First Stop was the Rapids which has an awful loading/unloading procedure, one boat unloaded/loaded at any one time(I hate Rapids Ride with this system) Still the ride was walk on when we went to it, but builded upto 40 mins later in the day so only a chance for one ride. The Ride is nice enough with some very good rapids and one chance near the end of the ride to get soaked so not bad. Next up was Los Fiordos(Giant Splash) Its a very short ride with just the Lift hill and Drop, Sadly you dont get as wet as you hoped but its not too bad in the front. The Last Water Ride was El Aserradero(The Log Ride) This is a very deceiving log Ride with 2 very nice drops and a suprise Water Fall at the end of a cave section, The waterfall is meant to turn off when you go under it, but it didnt on my go and I got soaked, Oh Well it didnt matter, the weather again reached upto 80-85 degrees so was soon dry.

So what about the Coasters I hear you Cry. First up is a kiddie coaster called Las Cumbres, Actually we were not allowed to ride this and this turned out to be the only coaster credit we missed out on, some of tryed to beg the ride op to let us on despite there being no queue but he kept refusing, Oh well. The next one was 7 Picos, a very early version of a Schwarzkopf wildcat coaster, this rode extremly well and was a great ride, they have certaintly kept good care of this baby, It was also unbelievably fast and smooth, A great ride. The last coaster to ride of course was Tornado, this was absolutly superb and didnt disapoint me, It is an amazing ride which is very smooth and very fast and intense, a wonderful Intermin Inverted.

There was also lots of other rides to try like the Big Wheel, this gave some good views of the park and you got about 7 laps round too, Very nice. There is also a nice indoor water ride called Fantasia, it is kinda like Its a Small World at Disney taking you through different countries, the themeing inside is very nice, Also bravo to the Ride Op who let a big group of us(12 people I think) all into one boat when really it should be 10 people maximum. We then went round to the Jungla Ride where we tryed to do the same again(all in 1 boat) but it actually started to physiclly sink so we were yelled at by the ride op for some of us to get out, Never mind, It was a nice enough boat ride with some nice scenery and themeing but its nothing that special.

We then tryed a Simulator ride nearby and when we thought it couldnt be any worse than the one at TM, we were wrong, this one was absolutly shocking. first of all, if there was any kind of preshow, we was'nt shown one as we were ushered straight into the ride experience, the ride then plays some very funky music before the huge Lap Bars are lowered, and the ride experience was just awful, The story was complety puzzling and again it was very jerky in the movements, Very Weird yet we all liked the music played before it started. Time for the Freefall experience, a very nice freetall tower with some nice views of the park and a nice drop experience, this seemed a bit more intense than many of them out there

Next up was The Old Mine, A very bizarre dark ride taking you round mines, the themeing is ok and the effects are nice but you could tell it was a very old ride so didnt really excite me that much. Also one ride I must report on is the Enterprise Ride and I can safely say it is the most intense Ride of its kind in the world, Basiclly it would just spin and spin constantly for a good few minutes, and then take you up verticlly, It would stay here for about another minute before bringing you down and spinning you round and round again for another few mins, It is quite simply the most intense Enterprise ride I had ever seen and I dont think I saw one person come off actually enjoying it(Some people felt very sick) Needless to say I did NOT ride this.

I was also pleased to see a funHouse Attraction at this park, however this one is one of those Boat Funhouses(Like what Alton Towers had years and years ago, Prehaps this park brought it off them????) I thought it was very good with some moving walkways in complety dark sections and a revolving tunnel which is always good fun to do. At first I never realised it was this kind of attraction until one of the members told me about it so I nearly missed it. They also have a haunted Walk through attraction at this park, but you had to pay extra for it so I dont think anyone went on it. there was also a Frisbee ride at this ride which everyone was excited about doing, but sadly the ride was closed all day so unfortunutly our takeover on this never happened.

All in All a good day. The park is very nice and has some good rides, Tornado is a great coaster tucked hidden away in this park which makes the day worthwhile. However It would be nice if the park had another Killer Coaster then it would be even better to visit, not that I dont think the park is bad at the moment because it isnt, Its perfect with its good mixture of water/Coasters and flats ride but I just feel one more Good Coaster would make it a even more perfect park to visit.

Anyway, Pictures are available at the link below so ENJOY :)
