Drievelt Report(9/5/05)

Our Final Visit of the trip brought us to Drievliet Family Park which is a family run park in the city, It is a very small park, and we only had 2hrs here, however that actually proved to be plenty of time.

We arrived at 9AM, and found we pretty much had a park ERS where most rides were open for us before the public were allowed in, this was a really nice touch considering the short time we had in the park.

First up though, we all went to Xtreme, this is a Maurer Spinning Coaster, and is an exact model of the one at Camelot Theme Park, however sadly this one was a lot more rougher and really bashed you about hard at times, It felt so uncomfortable that not many people took more than 2-3 rides max.

Next we tryed Copermijn(A Maurer Wild Mouse) this had a nice bit of themeing around the ride, and the ride itself was'nt too bad either, again a few brakes seemed to be turned off rather than on(Excellent). Another coaster here was Twistrix(Another Maurer Spinning Coaster,Notice the Maurer Theme here ;) ) this one is a bit different in that you sit in single cars, and the cars spin around which gently going down small drops and turns, Its not really intense this ride, but you do get 2 laps for the pleasure, and there is still a fair bit of spinning to be had, so overall its not too bad. Another Coaster we should have got to ridden Dynamite Express(A Mack Powered Mine Train) but sadly it was'nt ready,Strange as leafets I picked up in Hotels seemed to suggest it was, Oh Well never mind, the ride looked quite good with a nice looking end helix too.

After a few more re-rides on the coasters, there was'nt much left to try out and by now, the public were let loose in the park, I went and had a bit of fun on the MultiSlides to pass some time which also had some good views from up there too. There was also a Mini Vortex here, plus a Enterprise and Brakedance ride, but I didnt really want to ride any of there. We also found a little dark ride which was a haunted Ghost Train, and it seemed in a very sorry state with one head missing off a model, and infact it was only a few days later when we learned the ride had been vandalised the night before hense the very poor state of the ride,a bit of a shame really.

After watching some brave souls ride the Log Ride, It was time to leave ready for our long time back to England. Drievliet is certaintly a cute little park, but I couldnt spend a long time here, and the 2hrs was actually perfect, hopefully the powered mine train will be good though.

And now for the last time, Pictures from Drievliet can be seen at the address below,ENJOY
