Wet N Wild Review(9/6/05)

Wet N Wild was certaintly a place I would have to revisit on this trip, as I would get to try out many new things here including The Storm,Disco H20, and the Hydra Figher(Which on 2 previous trips on earlier years Hydra Fighter was closed, Would I be 3rd time lucky though)

As soon as I was in the park, it was immediatly onto Disco H2O, this is a very unique water slide, Its all enclosed, and while you go down, you get to listern to music, and there is loads of lighting effects adding to the Disco Effect, you start by going down a fairly steep drop, and thats when you enter the main Space Bowl Type Feature, going round 1 and a half laps, Its a very short ride, but its done extremely well, and it pulls it off nicely.

The Other New Ride to try was the Storm, This is a Double SpaceBowl Attraction which is quite good, The height where you start is the highest I've seen for such a waterslide like this so you can really wizz around the spacebowl getting quite a few laps round before you touch down the middle, Also inside the spacebowl there is a few nice water effects and storm noises adding to the effect of the name(The Storm)

This time I was lucky to see Hydra Fighter working today so I had to give it a go,basiclly people are seated in back to back swings with water cannons and by controlling the water pressure from your gun, you can swing high in the air, and if you're lucky, you might be able to soak a few people around you as well, Its very good fun, and the ride time was reasonable too(Felt about 5 mins)

Managed to ride nearly everything else including The Multi Slides,The Black Hole,The Surge,Blue Niagara, and The Blast which was previously the rapids ride, but just given a re-theme,there are lots of water interactive efects going down getting you wet and its certaintly an improvement over the old type ride.

After a few hrs at the park, the weather kept getting nasty with thunderstorms, so the rides kept closing so eventually we left, but I still got to do everything I wanted to do anyway. Crowds were not too bad, but Disco H20 attracted a long queue(1-2hrs,OUCH) so I only got one ride. However I'm pleased to say I went back to Wet N Wild on the Saturday(11th June) as it was open till 11PM, and managed to get loads more rides on it then, Visiting Wet N Wild in the dark was fun, fantastic fun going down water slides so late in the day, Shame you will never get something like this in the UK.

A few pictures from Wet N Wild now follow, I had hoped to get many more than what I did, but on the first day I was there, it was very cloudy with lots of rain so getting decent pictures was hard, and on the second visit, It was at 9PM when it was dark so couldnt manage any then either
