Typhoon Lagoon Review(13/6/05)

Although Wet N Wild was included on my hopper pass and I could have visited for free, I really wanted to try out Typhoon Lagoon for a few reasons, one being I hadnt visited this park for years, and I was itching to try out the new Crush n Gusher(the New MasterBlaster Rides)

Once again as soon as I entered, It was straight to Crush and Gusher, this is the park's newest attraction which is 3 short Master Master Slides all themed around the surrounding areas, infact I thought the ride would have more themeing than it did, but it still looked nice, now I cant remember the names of all 3 slides, but there was 1 that was definatly longer than the others, and thats the one I certaintly enjoyed more, but each one seemed to have its own unique suprise built in, so it was all about equel in enjoyment(One had a double up hill section in a row,One had an extra long tunnel etc) Also they all start off in the same way too(A nice little drop followed by an uphill section so they were all done very nicely. Personally I would have liked it all to be one slide, but obviously they have though capasity in mind here creating 3 short slides so it does move the queue well, Overall very enjoyable.

Humunga Kowabunga was a 5 storie ride which was quite enjoyable, but just short, Its just a steep drop crashing down into the pool far below, you pick up some good speed though going down.

Keelhaul Falls and Mayday Falls are single person raft rides which are quite good fun going down long water courses down to a pool far below, a few nice themeing effects on both. Storm Slides was 3 slides which is wonderfully built into the landscape(Very unique) and that adds to the effect on each one, One has No Tunnels,One has Short Tunnels,And One has Long Tunnels so they all have different features,Quite enjoyable.

Now if you come to Typhoon Lagoon, you would be a fool not to go in their Huge Wave Pool, for a start its absolutly huge which has easily accomodate hundreds of people, and every 2 minutes you get a massive wave(It must feel like 8ft tall if you're in the deep end) which looks extremly impressive and gives everyone a huge buzz. Also the Lazy River is a pretty good one too which encircles the entire park(probably just as big as the one at Blizzard Beach) and was very popular(Probably more popular than any ride here)

Crowds were big here, but then again the weather was gorgeous but probably a bit too hot for me(It got very hot walking on some of the paths, I nearly burned my feet at times) Crush and Gusher reached 30 mins at its peak, and other rides soon topped that, even the Lazy River had queues to get in if you wanted a tube to sit on so overall I think it was another good day

Pictures now follow from Typhoon Lagoon,ENJOY
