Busch Gardens(7/6/05)

Well today was the day to go to Busch Gardens and try out Sheirka, it was certaintly the day I was most looking forward too, but would it really be any good.

Arrived just before 10AM, and ran straight for Sheirka, WOW you can see this ride from nearly everywhere in the park, Its Huge. Got to the entrance, and it had just opened as it was only open for the first hr to season pass holders, so I didnt queue long(15 mins or so) The Trains are nice, and with the 3rd added row, capasity goes way up, 4 trains were running today so they can have upto 96 people on the ride at anyone time. Also the crew were superb all day, the queue only reached 30-35 mins all day, and were really kicking ass. So up the 200ft lift hill we go, You get an amazing view of the whole area but you dont get to enjoy it for long. Down the drop we go after holding for about 3-4seconds, to be honest it feels just the same as Oblivion, but the all outside effect works great, also the first drop definatly looks and feels a whole 90 degrees.

The Inversion was next and feels weird, but does the job very nicely indeed gliding through very smoothly indeed, into a helix and preparing for the second drop, we are braked unfortunutly before going into it, so it goes slowly into the drop, still works well though, Into the second drop which was good, and then into a banked turn into the water splash, It works OK I guess, but you can only enjoy it by watching it.The end helix was'nt great, mearly something small added in to finish.

Overall, I did like it, but was'nt totally blown away. The Drop is good but does feel the same as Oblivion(Just all outside), The Inversion Was great, second drop was good but braked going into it,splashdown is good to watch, but you cant enjoy it when riding, the end helix isnt really too great. Overall I got 3 rides(2 In the front row, Not bad as you cant choose what row to sit in) but still I dont think I got a great buzz even at the front. The Majority of people absolutly loved it though, and you could tell they were all getting a huge buzz out of it, so Overall I'm going to Say Its a great ride, but still dont expect anything spectacular.

For the rest of the day, I didnt get on much, It was very hot and humid which was ruining the day so me and my mum were resting for most of the time, but still found time for The Rapids(I got soaked at the end after staying dry for most of the ride), Kumba Twice(Still quite smooth,Mid Course nearly turned off),Montu Twice(MidCourse not too intense),Scorpian Twice and Cheetah Chase.

Didnt ride Phthon(Its Rubbish anyway) and I didnt ride Gwazi, Are you mad I hear you say, Well only one side was running, and the one side that was had a big queue so I didnt bother, why queue up for a duelling ride that isnt duelling.

Queues didnt get too big, most of the people were on Sheirka. Queued ranged between Walk ons to 20 mins max. The Rapids was about 40 mins though, and as said Sheirka was about 35 mins max all day. So Overall a good day I felt.

The Pictures that follow are all of SheiKra only, I took many pictures around the park last time, so felt this coaster deserved its own special picture gallery, I hope you enjoy them
